Intercloud? Um…We Have That
I’m not one to compare myself to others, or worry about what anyone else is doing. When I was much younger just entering the business world a mentor taught me to not get wrapped up in the elaborate fluff of others. So, when Cisco announced this week that they are sinking $1 billion dollars in what they call an Intercloud – an Internet of Everything – my first reaction was to ignore it. But after some reflection I came to the conclusion that this isn’t about Cisco really. It’s about you. And so I felt compelled to let you know that you don’t have to wait two years for Cisco’s wonder cloud. We have it already. Now. Today. And you can have it too.
myRacktop is a nationwide private and secure cloud built specifically for the mid to large Enterprise. It’s a members only data ecosystem which spans over 50 locations and hundreds of miles of dark fiber. You can’t get in over the Internet with the swipe of a credit card. It’s for fully vetted businesses only. The core of what we provide is driven by data storage, and extends out to include virtualization, platform as a service, back office support systems, phone and HD video conferencing. Want to get into Big Data but don’t have the staff or know-how to figure out the systems and analytical aspects? No problem. We’ve run some of the largest analytical databases and big data systems in the world, and you can have similar systems and expertise at your fingertips. Looking for long term object, cold, or archival storage? Have Hipaa, SOX, Finra, or PCI requirements? ITAR compliance needs? We support that as well. Our goal with the myRacktop cloud is to eliminate the barriers to achieving agility and efficiency in IT through a combination of architecture, engineering, readily available resources and a strong team of road tested consultants. If you can dream it, we can help you do it. You can’t click around a self-service website and expect that kind of magic to happen.
Cisco’s news is a good thing. It validates the investment we made into building our Internet of Everything. If this news excites you too, then it’s probably worth it to investigate what we have to offer today. Who knows what is going to happen in the next two years. There is a lot you can accomplish between now and then. So if you are a serious Enterprise who wants to accomplish big things, check out how you can join the club. And yes, Cisco….you can join too if you want.
