Active Defense is RackTop's core security technology — integrated directly into BrickStor SP at the I/O layer. Unlike endpoint or network security, it operates at the point where data is written, making it impossible for an attacker to bypass by compromising the operating system, a backup agent, or a user session.

• Per-Operation Trust Evaluation

  Every file operation is evaluated in real time against behavioral baselines — client IP, user account, file activity patterns, and other identifiers — before the operation is permitted to complete.
• Sub-Second Response

  When anomalous behavior is detected, Active Defense terminates the offending session immediately — typically within one second, before ransomware can encrypt more than a handful of files.
• Behavioral Threat Detection

  Continuous behavioral analysis identifies malicious patterns — ransomware encryption signatures, bulk exfiltration, credential abuse, and lateral movement — without relying on signatures.
