Which BrickStor Is Right for You?

Four products. One platform. One management console. Pick the right one for the mission — or run more than one and let Hub Central tie them together.

Start with the question

The fastest way to choose a BrickStor product is to answer one question: what is the dominant requirement for the data?

"Secure file sharing for general enterprise or federal unstructured data."

BrickStor SP

"Maximum performance for AI training, HPC, or parallel-file-system workloads."

BrickStor SP for Lustre

"High-rate capture of network, RF, radar, or sensor data at the edge."

BrickStor HDR

"Classified data at rest up to Top Secret, deployable, coalition-shareable, possibly with edge compute."

When to choose each

BrickStor SPThe flagship Cyberstorage NAS

Choose when: You need a secure NAS for unstructured data and you want active threat defense at the storage layer. This is the right answer for the majority of file storage workloads in enterprise IT and federal civilian environments. It is also the answer when you need media flexibility — flash for hot data, HDD for warm, object for cold — in the same namespace.

BrickStor SP for LustreWhen performance is non-negotiable

Choose when: You need parallel file system throughput for AI training, HPC simulation, or scientific computing. Outperforms VAST Data on workloads that require a true parallel file system. Most customers pair it with BrickStor SP so users who prefer NFS or S3 are also served from the same platform.

BrickStor HDRWhen the mission is sensor capture

Choose when: Network, RF, radar, or other high-speed edge sensors are generating data on the network and a lossless solution is needed to record and playback data from the network via UDP. Pairs with BrickStor SP via Hub Central for offload, analysis, and long-term archive.

BrickStor CSfC DARWhen the mission is classified, deployable, or both

Choose when: You need NSA CSfC-aligned data at rest up to Top Secret, your operating environment is connected/disconnected/contested, your platform deploys across borders or with coalition partners, or you need GPU/TPU compute on classified data at the tactical edge. Available as NAS, HDR, or compute platform; on RackTop or partner rugged hardware.

Picking more than one

Most BrickStor customers run more than one product. Common combinations:

SP + SP for Lustre

High-performance AI/HPC pipeline (Lustre) plus general-purpose NAS (SP) for the rest of the organization, managed as one platform.

SP + HDR

Sensor capture at the edge with HDR, offload to SP for analysis and long-term archive.

SP + CSfC DAR

Enterprise NAS at the home fort, CSfC nodes deployed forward, both managed from Hub Central.

All four

Large federal customers with the full mission profile.

In every case, Hub Central is the unifying layer. One console, one data orchestration plane.

What every BrickStor product shares

  • ABAC for dynamic, context-aware access control
  • Hub Central for unified management
  • ZFS-derived data integrity
  • FIPS AES-256 encryption
  • Built by U.S. Intelligence Community veterans

What only BrickStor SP has

The four patents — Active Defense, Intelligent Bulk Remediation, ImmutaVault, and Transparent Data Movement — ship in BrickStor SP. Customers who need those capabilities on data captured by HDR or processed on SP for Lustre pair the products and let Hub Central orchestrate the data flow to BrickStor SP for the protected tier.

FAQ

Yes. Most customers do, and Hub Central is designed to manage them as one platform.
Yes. Hub Central orchestrates data flows — for example, HDR capture at the edge offloading to BrickStor SP at the home fort for analysis.
No. Each product can be managed standalone. Hub Central is the unifying layer for multi-product environments.
