Product Spotlight: Desktop as a Service (DaaS)

Project Info

Products: vBOX
Concept: VDI, Desktops as a Service
Date: January 30, 2015

Jonathan Halstuch and Eric Bednash discuss how you get from deciding to use VDI to using Desktops as a Service.

Once you have determined that you want to implement VDI, you’ll realize that it is the beginning of a very complex task to implement at scale in a typical architecture.

We created vBOX to avoid several common problems associated with VDI including network, compute, storage, as well as scaling. However, you still need skill, time and resources to implement VDI on your own.

Once you scope the possibilities and pitfalls for your enterprise, the answer to “Why DaaS?” becomes evident. DaaS offers simplicity, rapid deployment and being able to get an incredible product as a service, at a low operational cost, as opposed to a large capital outlay. Scale users on demand – rather than experiencing the frustration that can happen when a single new user throws you over your equipment threshold and a new purchase becomes mandatory. DaaS allows you to order and implement a single desktop at a reasonable, predictable fee with ease and without needing to purchase additional equipment.

Users can connect to RackTop’s DaaS over the internet via laptop, desktop, mobile device or zero client. Larger enterprises can utilize our private connectivity which streamlines the process, increases the quality of service, and eliminates latency internet connection unknowns.

Want to try out DaaS with Racktop? Let’s talk.
