In this installment of IT Matters Jonathan Halstuch and Eric Bednash discuss Eric’s recent contribution to Cyber Security magazine, an article entitled, “Know Thy Neighbor: The Dangers of the Public Cloud,” for National Cyber Security Awareness month.

The cloud can be a dangerous place to run a business, but being aware of those dangers is the first step to its effective use for business. Eric recommends accomplishing data center security with effective layers. And not all cloud providers provide layered security to their customers. While they may have security implemented in their network they still allow access to any customer with a credit card – which can put your business at risk.

The most secure cloud for your Enterprise is one that is private, with controls, and only allows vetted customers access to the space. myRacktop is a leading private and secure cloud which provides the assurances that an Enterprise needs with respect to running their business out of the cloud but with all of the added security, active defense, privacy, and comfort that is missing from public clouds.

myRacktop is the country club of clouds. We built our expansive data ecosystem to enable business to not only store their data, but to protect and utilize it as well. Securely. Our exclusive cloud offering, myRacktop, is the piece that enables our customers to realize business continuity and data protection in a way that is exponentially more efficient and cost effective than what they are using today. We have 8 core data centers – 4 in the east and 4 in the west – all are connected by our own private fiber network. Our national carrier network covers nearly every major datacenter in the country and has 40 Gbs of bandwidth. Our goal is to privately and securely connect customers to our ecosystem – allowing them to take advantage of the cloud in a secure and safe manner. Our cloud is for vetted businesses only – in the myRacktop community you can trust your neighbor will be a good citizen.
