University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC), a mid-size R1 research university, has upgraded disaster recovery and business continuity infrastructure by leveraging virtual desktops and remote commuting with RackTop’s hosted desktop VDI solution. They went with RackTop’s Desktop as a Service solution because it was quickly delivered, as promised, highly performant, cost-effective and user friendly for staff and students.
“The RackTop implementation has dramatically changed perception of our virtual environment,” says David Toothe, “resources can be accessed from anywhere – allowing lab space to be reclaimed for class room and study space. The services provided by their department has furthered the capabilities of teaching and learning for the university.”
